When this media scaremongering last came up a number of people looked at the stats and showed that Foxconn employees have a far LOWER suicide rate than the Chinese population as a whole.

If you have any data which shows otherwise then I'd be very interested to see it.

Wouldn't you need to compare to other companies rather than the entire population to have a meaningful comparison?

Yes, or perhaps a section of the population with the same age/sex profile as the Foxconn workforce - and as I recall the analysis attempted to do that. In any case the figures were such that it was pretty much impossible to make the case that Foxconn employees had an unusually high suicide rate.

• Military style managers humiliate staff
• Standing up for over 14 hours a day
• Up to 100 hours overtime a month
• Wages as little as $186 a month

It's disgusting - a company is producing something and paying people wages they have agreed to be paid.
