DD-WRT router firmware - TOP URGENT

I am trying to connect a printer to the USB port of my TP WR1043ND router

Flash went OK and have followed all the steps here
    Printer Sharing - DD-WRT Wiki

Have done all the USB port enabling, SSH and JFFS stuff, with reboots.

Trouble happens when trying to run the command line ( even after trying ipkg update) and just get error - file not found etc etc.

Looking for some urgent help to walk through this.

I've found trying to get printers working over wireless or via USB port of router to be very painful experience. Tried 4 different times in different setups/printers and could never get them to work reliably so in the end I gave up.

    Suggestion : Give up!! :-)
Connect the printer to a PC and then just share that PC's printer on the network. It never fails but it does require the mother-PC to be turned on all the time. I'm assuming windoze network ofcourse.

Its fast looking that way. DD-WRT is a great interface and this should be simple. YTF should you have to write code and use SSH just to enable printing when its one click to enable the port? Total geek fest.

    If I may digress...

For those that want to avoid all these problems. I bought an Brother 2055ND, network/duplex laser printer for HK$1100 which is very nice and simple.

The built in web server is pretty impressive allows you to configure many options and give you impressive reporting... I was quite surprised.

I got a new printer for marketing dept recently. The printer keeps talking to me and sending me emails like "Order the black cartridge". "Replace the black cartridge". "Some twit has jammed me", etc. Whoever set it up put my email address in. I have to go figure out how to divert all these mesasages to the receptionist instead of me

I agree and that's what I would have done if starting from scratch. I had a networked Samsung CLP when I first opened an office here and it was SWEEEEEEETTTTTT.

This set up will run with a printer they don't want to change hence this "fix".
However the WR10423nd does have a cool OSS feature, so when they upgrade printers they can go wireless and it will sync at the touch of a button. PLUS this router has wicked performance that ACTUALLY does what it says on the box.

The box says the USB is for network storage hence the FU trying to use it to print.
