Can anyone offer any advice on a 500mbp pass through home plug or would a 200 be OK? I will stream media around the house and play online games. Netflix etc.
Thanks

I am currently using WD Livewire which are rated at 200mbps and stream 1080P content (Including 3D) with no hiccups.
My son's Xbox is also plugged in the network and he has reported no issues.
Thanks I'll look into that but I hope to get a pass through as we are short of plug sockets. I like the multiple ports though.
Is anyone using these to drive a remote monitor using an HDMI / DVI - cat 5 adapter through the WiFi ?
Hmm Boris, maybe I am missing something but I thought these HDMI to RJ45 adapters are only for the cable so that you can use a standard network cable (ie. cat5) instead of a HDMI cable. I didn't think that you can actually run your HDMI over a LAN network or WiFi in your case. Could be wrong though, wouldn't be the first time. Just recently I heard for the first time about Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) technology...
I was asking because if you can run a video signal up a cat 5 and you can buy wireless remote ( through the USB ) monitor set up then maybe there is a fix to have a wifi circuit and second monitor supply using these plug in wireless extenders.
The problem with the usb set up is they are all sold as same room solutions and there is a two box set up from IO gear but both are quite expensive. We are looking at this as a give away on a project we are launching.

This is a more extravagant version of the usb solution but its all a monitor 1 solution. The two box 3d kit from IO gear runs HDMI - HDMI and is a monitor 2 solution - albeit expensive.

How many home plugs do you need to use in your house? Do not use more than 2. Connection gets unstable if used more than 2 or home plugs will loose link between each other.
I dont use them anymore but did use them about 6-7 years ago - had 5 then.
I would expect in 7 years the technology would have improved.
Where are you getting this information about losing links from?
Hi all,
Thanks for the info. Can I ask if you have 200 or 500 speeds and do you stream video? Or HD content?
