I've moved all to prepaid options. 76 dollars for unlimited internet (very slow though for this money) , 168 dollars for phone (unlimited internet, 1600 minutes free calls). Monthly charges.
If I need to upload /download I use work internet.
For a family this would not work but you can get around these isp's and Telecom companies and their dubious antics.

It's ok but can't really compare with others. It's 3 mobile and is ok for me. I haven't looked at the terms but I'm sure it's there somewhere.
Unlimited data for 18 dollars a day capped at 168 dollars. Used over 2gb this month. I generally buy a 300 dollar recharge card and get another 100 dollars free.

Are you using google chrome? If yes, then check settings > bandwidth management and turn off 'preload webpages'. This 'feature' causes Chrome to download about 10 times more data than you use... it gets loads of pages in background so they load quick... a high price if it works out as $1 per viewed page...
Discovered this when i burnedthrough 5gig on my new nexus 7.
i can't even use more than 4gig on my phone, everytime data billing period is close to turn over, i try to download hd (720p) content and save it on my sd card!
With a digital lifestyle where almost everything is connected to WiFi. Many devices require frequent software updates. And iOS devices also use Cloud backups.
Huge data transfer does not always mean it's for 'stolen goods'. These data requests (software updates etc..) are usually made without owner's explicit consent.
And if you are running a Windows PC at home then good luck, have fun downloading those patches and hotfixes!!
nevermind.
