    Dell laptop repair

    Hi guys,

It's been a while since I was last here......wondered if anyone could help.

I have a Dell laptop (Inspiron N4010) that I purchased a little over 2years ago (early 2011). I recently discovered that the laptop motherboard is defective and needs to be replaced. (apparently it's burned out and the machine doesn't power up at all)

It's definitely the mobo as I've tried a replacement battery and adapter, both of which were new and without issues on other machines.

Here's my problem, machine is no longer under warranty (over a year already), but called Dell anyway and offered to pay any charge as long as they could replace it.

Long story short, they don't have the part (relevant mobo) in stock! for a machine that's barely over 2 years old!! To order it specifically would take months!

I've been suggested to seek other repair alternatives. Can anyone recommend a decent laptop repair specialist for Dell machines?

    Much appreciated guys!

If you can remove the base cover, you can note down the motherboard part number. Whats ur laptop model number?

You can check out for the motherboard in www.taobao.com or ebay..

Alternatively, you can take your notebook to new capital computer plaza at sham shui po or huajiang bei road in shenzhen and fix it..

thanks, but not too keen on self-repair exercise. Would prefer a specialist to oversee the fix.

    any suggestions?

Repair shops in the second floor of golden computer plaza at sham shui po or the new capital computer plaza at sham shui po.
