    Trouble with opening Yahoo.....

    can't even get onto the yahoo.com home page.... can you?

    i've cleared my cache, my cookies. i've restarted twice. i have tried yahoo.ca.... can't open either....

    thanks for the link.... it says it is down for just me... but i can access all other websites....

    so, what do you think the problem is? i have no idea. i was able to send a message to my step-dad (my normal go-to tech guy) but he is on holiday and i have no idea when he'll be able to help.

    This is a stab in the dark, but if you're using Windows you can try this:

    1. Open a "run" box by pressing the Windows key and "R" at the same time
    2. Type the following: ipconfig /flushdns
    3. Wait for window to disappear
    4. Try yahoo.com again

    didn't work... same problems...

    now it says that DNS failed...

    Can open yahoo.com and ca.yahoo.com homepages.

    i tried your suggestion (with the cmd command first) and flushed the dns... still doesn't work! can't access it on either IE or Chrome.

    Just to confirm... you typed "ipconfig /flushdns" at the Command Prompt - with a space between the "g" in "ipconfig" and the "/" symbol? Did you restart after flushing the dns?
