    Windows XP heeeeeelp !!!!

Just installed service pack 2 and when I reboot screen goes to Welcome and then a window pops up stating windows could not verify computer certificate ( my own translation from Chinese ) error code 0x80004005.

How can I fix that if I can only do the following right now.
    1. Close or standby option
    2. Pushing Ctrl alt del provides a window that asks me to login but req. a password that I dont know

I am in there and tried " last time correct configuration" option which again leads to the welcome screen deadlock.

Shall I try safe mode ?

Can you do a system restore to a point prior to you installing service pack 2?

I have tried that from F8 options but it did not work out as I ended up at the Welcome mode screen again and from there it is just as described in my first post
The only option that works is Safe Mode without the "connection" option, I could try whether eye-phone tethering works. Or I could try to restore to previous settings- i.e. prior SP 2 installation- out of Safe Mode, any quick guidance ?

sometimes the password is no password... ie: enter nothing and hit return.
Tks, have tried that, no luck

That's a very good question. There are damned good copycat versions out in the market.
However, I ASSUME it is a legit version as I bought the computer from a big Fujitsu dealer in, you guessed it correctly, China

so next I will try to find how to do this from safe mode: restore to a point prior to you installing service pack

If anyone has any other idea, it would be much appreciated!

    Thanks, guys !
And to INXS for the message.
I have set it back to prior installation settings.
I guess I just give up on SP upgrading,

Is there any 64 bit OS for free from Google or Ubuntu?
