Thanks Shri. It's quite a specialist dual antenna LTE MIMO product though and even the likes of RS electronics Hong Kong do not stock it

Any of your small local mobile shops should have it -- look for the non-branded shops selling phones and the like. You can also bring a photo of the card with you in case they don't recognise the name.

Thanks mate. Will browse through Wanchai and see if I can find it anymore.

If anyone knows a place in the Central / WC area, please let me know. Also, does anyone have it already and can provide a view on connectivity / speed?

    Cheers,

Sorry to revive a thread from 2 months ago, but anyone tried a Vave card before? What's the speed and connectivity like?
The website doesn't give much info, except how the company really really likes paragliding.

Hi everyone! Within 15 minutes of getting off the MTR at Sham Shui Po, I found a store that sold the Vave cards. Speeds are about the same as Shanghai38 posted, and the vendor confirmed that it is truly unlimited 4G. However, the SIM cannot call to China or international, so only local HK use. But you can Whatsapp/Skype on the phone to do that or tether to your laptop! Cheers and good luck finding it!

When FUP kicks in I do notice my speed dropping to around 20-22Mbs, but this is still sufficient for multiple video streams. I'm also still way ahead of where I was with PCCW DSL.
Thanks Paul. I am getting on Smartone 4G LTE (prepaid service for testing in South Lantau: 59ms average ping; 6.23Mbps down average; 13.7Mbps up average - OFCA speed test - using a Huawei e3372 USB 4G LTE dongle

This is without a proper MIMO aerial (or any aerial); just the USB LTE dongle. I am not sure why my upload speeds are 2x faster than my download speeds (it is definitely not throttled in terms of account), but wonder if a proper MIMO aerial would fix this.

Thanks. I guess the challenge will just be finding it amongst the assorted electronics!

@dossier - you could try DX.Com. I've bought a fair bit of "junk" from there and its all been ok to play around with and some of it has even survived. I think the prices are similar to what you can get on Ap Liu Street but a little bit more expensive than TaoBao.

Thanks this was really helpful. I have identified a 4G LTE MIMO antenna that looks suitable.
