Trusted and Affordable External Hard Drive Recovery Center

    Hello,

I recently broke my external hdd, and I wanted to know where is the most trusted file recovery center here in HK, and hopefully they charge at a reasonable price. From my research, the "legit" ones are charging me 4500-5000 HKD for the recovery, while there are some people in Wan Chai who will charge me 2000 - 2500 HKD for it. Is it safe to trust them? I really need some thoughts on this. Thanks in advance!

    Does it need recovery?
I.e has it stopped spinning? If it's still spinning then it probably just needs opening up and put in a new hdd case which is only a few hundred dollars

A lot of them just tell me it needs recovery, so is there a way for it to be repaired? The damage is caused by dropping then I heard the clicking noises.

Also, now would be a good time to learn about features of the modern world like 'backups'...

    Yes it's possible
If it's clicking it might of fallen off the mount that's all.
As I mentioned it might just need a new enclosure and remount it.

You won't know for sure till it's opened up

Any computer repair shop can do it.
It's just a simple job of removing the screws and putting it in a new case.

    anybody can do it
