    I'm sure you do/did but then you have to factor in not only your travel time (3-4 hours) and then opening up your mac and replacing it.

    If I had lots of time on my hands, sure I'd do it too but when 298 is just 5 mins away from my office....

    For most models its 988, the retina models the battery is attached to the top case/keyboard, so it needs to be entirely changed which is why it costs more.

    Quick update .. I did get an appointment for Sunday @ the apple store in CWB.

    The cost worked out to $988 for the battery replacement.

    As usual, quick service ..

    the most dangerous component in the MacBook is the battery

    for safety, I would prefer the original Apple battery
