Which is the cheapest internet service provider in HK

My father just got a computer in Hong Kong and he plan to use internet service

He is bombard with many internet info down his home and dunno which one is to go for

    Here is the main criteria

His main usage is really for browsing internet, downloading movies/series

So with a budget, which is the BEST & CHEAPEST one to go?

It doesn't have to be the FASTEST, as long as it is the cheapest and best value.

I heard it is HKBN? and PCCW is the worst and most expensive?

Or is there a site where you can compare the internet service provider in terms of price, length of contract, company pros & cons etc because in NZ and Australia has a few useful sites that are like that

Your advice and advice will be appreciated

    Kind regards

First I would check which service is available in his home. Even though I live in a new building, I can't get HKBN.

You can check your coverage here.

    All relatively similar....

Its $100-200 per month. How can we ask for the cheapest and best. You're talking about saving a few dollars per month. It's nothing.

Maybe you can start of with the 100mb broadband provided by PCCW or HKBN.

Smartone is cheapest, uses HKBN network but doesn't force extras onto you like tv packages and home phone etc like HKBN does. Currently about $103 per month for 500mbps or $113 for 1gbps on 24 month contract when you factor in one month free and a $480 rebate, waive installation charges.

Internation suggest these. But my friend told me to get PCCW, it offers land line phone, internet and mobile all together, but I guess all internet providers now do this.

    PCCW
    Hong Kong Boardband
    Pacific Internet
    GovWifi
    HKnet

I am with HKBN - 1000M for $160 with a lot of free gifts

And if you ever run into an issue, they will send someone within 24 hours (My experience) to fix or mostly replace the faulty device.

They are all pretty much the same. Quality comes down to the man who installed the wire to your home. Could be lucky--could be unlucky.
