Desktop pricing between HK versus Shenzhen

I am planning to build a desktop rig.

Now my questions is, has anyone did a comparison on the motherboard + chipset prices when buying either from Shum Shui Po versus SEG Shenzhen? Let's take I plan to buy Gigabyte brand motherboard.

I suspect the price level are about the same?

    Any feedback will be appreciated.

    Thank you.

I guess HK is cheaper. Just check online.

    Example: GIGABYTE H370N WIFI
    price.com.hk ~$ 1200

    Taobao.com RMB 1299

    China is 20-30% higher.

My advice on PC building right now is to spec the graphics card first. Due to the crypt-mining craze, any half decent graphics card will have gone up in price. The good thing about this is that for brands like EVGA, Gigabyte, ASUS and MSI, they have dropped the prices of motherboards, but on the bad side, sellers won't sell you just the graphics card, but as a bundle to flog off their other components. We asked several of the bigger PC components in SSP, and they're all doing this practice.

oh, I just compared the Mobo price. For the CPU I don't bother, for sure that is cheaper in Hong Kong.

Maybe the case is cheaper in China, probably HDMI cables too.

I suspect it's more of those accessories are cheaper in China than all those Mobo/CPU in HK

I tried to compare a DIY list year ago, most of the things are sold cheaper in HK than in China.

I decided to go to Shenzhen recently to investigate and yes what everyone said here is right, when it comes to computer - it's cheaper to get in HK! Thanks for the input.

Shenzhen electronics markets are full of crap and not worth the trouble to get exactly what you are after.

As others have said prices are more expensive also...stick to HK

China has a lot of pirated goods so need to he careful, especially electronic components.

I always start from SSP and buy the odd components from taobao.
