Macbook (2012) Battery / Speaker Replacement

was at apple store yesterday, they said my 2012 macbook is too old and they stopped supplying, and the rep didnt advise going to apple 'specialists' stores.

https://www.JKIT.com.hk/Mac.html in sham shui po seems quite an honest shop. they said they can do counterfeit speakers for 500hkd that are 80% of the original sound. 700hkd for the 'original' speakers. buying a pair of bluetooth speakers would be better quality l think.
Are there other notable shops that are recommended.

Why would you want an el-cheapo speaker in your macbook? There must surely be lots of places in HK which have access to original OR BETTER speakers from stocks of the factory that made them? Yes, a BT speaker would be better but less convenient unless you leave the macbook in place most of the time.

Same with the battery. There are reviews out there of after market names such as Anker etc

Go to 298 Hennessy road, the computer mall. Go up to the first floor...on the left hand side is the first shop that you see called A1 lab. Ask for Leo the guy with white hair. He has new " old stock
" spare parts. He's fixed my macbook as well. You can't miss ghe shop . It is the first one on the left hand side as you enter the floor after coming off he escalator.

were they as good quality as original speakers? mbpr 2012 speakers surprisingly really good sound quality, but slightest of droplets of water, can damage them probably put some thin sellotape to cover the little holes??

No, sorry, but if it were me, I would buy a battery on ebay and just install it myself. Unless you have one of the glued-in batteries which need a wire passing behind the old one to get it out. Those late 2012 MBPs can be a bit trying.

Or just buy a used one with a working battery/speakers and put your HDD or SSD in it! Even easier, - restore your Time Machine backup lock, stock&barrel onto it. You wont even need to open up the back!! And for the same money, you'll have a spare computer for parts.

This is usually the optimum solution when more than one problem arises with older MBPs
