What type of mouse do you use?

With a growing dichotomy of use for PCs (Portable Laptop & deskbound Multiscreen ) what type of pointer manipulator do you use?

I use the exact one in tropic's post. Can't go back to a regular one now.

Since the emergence of "mouse" (I'm so ancient that I recall "Pre-Mouse" & other pointing devices)...... I have always used my LEFT hand to control of these mouse devices.

Not because I'm "cack-handed" - but I have better use for the right hand on the keyboard.

The move away from serial to USB cabled "Micky Mouse" devices - Oh so long ago now - was welcomed, as was the wireless connected Mouse(s) that I now use.

I have had Lenovos with red nipples & one Dell with a blue nipple.

The Lenovos were acquired solely because they were a "higher class" of Lenovo though I seldom played with that sort of nipple as it was pretty immobile. <Saucy Grin>.

I'm perfectly "at home" with my collection of wireless mouses - of course there is one [slight] problem : when the batteries finally expire before me - I need to seek out some from the wife's store of cells.

Of course, there is one more snare to entrap the unwary : sometimes the Mouse "freezes" and can only be "recovered" from this mishap by moving the wireless receiver to a different USB socket and waiting for the computer to "find" this "new" device - & then the Mouse is set free from its frozen state !!

And for the (luckily) small number of whingers who find "Bold" characters offends THEIR eyes in my postings, may I take the opportunity to point out that - ONCE - it was possible to post in a number of colors, and I use BOLD because - at 81 y.o {today} my eyesight ain't what it was and having BOLD type aids me if/when I need to edit my "diatribe" later!

Relieves the wrist strain you never realise you have until you switch... In my case I was starting to get weird aches down my arms so went for the full setup and also got a kinesis split keyboard.

To the original poll, I can't use those pointing nipple things on lenovo laptops at all... it always looks like jedi mind control to me when I see someone using one.

@Peaky have you used a trackball type device or did you jump from a regular mouse to this vertical thingy... Seems like a very fancy trackball.

Same reason for using a track ball plus very easy to skit between monitors with a few mm of thumb movement
