MacOS - Public Unsecured Wi-Fi.HK access

I am not able to figure out how this would work - would have thought there is an obvious setting to allow your mac to connect to an unsecured network.

My case involves using the Wi-Fi.HK network at a public library.

I can connect to the network on my phone and go through the captive web page which asks me to accept the T&Cs and allows WiFi access - to a point where I can continue browsing.

My Mac does not / did not allow a connection to the captive portal and kept warning me that I have an unsecured WiFi connection.

Any clues on what settings would help override this? Cannot seem to find anything useful through searches...

Am well aware of the risks...

I think this is specific to connecting to an unsecured network.

I think they should have a Computer and Information Centre; maybe seek them out.

Spitballing here, but have you tried either of the following?

    1) Access 1.1.1.1 in Safari browser to try to force the captive portal login page to load
    2) Check to see if the network you want to connect to is saved in the list of Preferred Networks under Wifi. If so, deleting it to reset it, and then trying to connect again.
