There is no such thing. What are you basing your facts on?

As for easy termination in Europe or the US, and why HK could not be the same???

Well, because it has its own laws.

Yes, it sucks that HK doesn't have any decent consumer protection laws, but that is life. The only way to change that would be if the HK government passed consumer protection laws and NO other way.

That version of the form appears to be about 10 years old - I doubt that it's still current.

Unhappy PCCW NetVigator and NOW TV

    Hello Guys,
Thank You Very Much for post.

I am facing thesimilar issue. I eplained the detailed to PCCW customer service. I am moving out of Hong Kong because I am getting transfered from company as Client is not having visbility on their project.

They asked me to provide the transfer letter and eticket. I did the same. We discussed for several hours twice and finally they settled the issue.

After a Month, I got the settlement bill for 1000 for Internet and 2500 for Now TV. They have mentioned if i will not pay in 7 days, Collection / Recovery team will follow-up on this issue.

I am back in HKG as my contract got extended. I took ICABLE internet as my friend was using and he transfered to me.

Please advice - how to deal with this issue.

The obvious answer is to pay the bills which you contractually agreed to pay. What's the problem?

To be clear, you are asking how you can terminate your contract early without any penalty?

THey agreed to let me go without any penalty if i provide all those document. After long discussion and several mail follow-up, if i am getting the notice, follow-up and their interaction was waste of time and money.

I want to know - what should i do in this case where i have recieved the notice although they agreed to settle this.

Lol, damn PCCW...they gave me the same hassle when I emailed wanting to terminate my service. They responded right up until I said "PLEASE SEND ME THE TERMINATION FORM". I did, however, keep a copy of this email chain for myself.

They never sent the form, of course, but I stopped paying my bill. After 3 months they called me, asking what was going on. I said that they had never sent me the term form and offered to email the thread I had kept as proof. Being aggressive on the phone helped; I was charged nothing for those three months.

My contract WAS finished, when I initially tried to cancel, though.

    1. Send them an email with instruction to cancel the plan. Save the proof for later, including any automatic acknowledgement you receive.
    2. Call your bank and stop the autopay. ( A lot of people forget that they have the power to stop the autopay from your account)
    3. Wait for them to call you back and ask for any outstanding payments in lieu of your contract and other instructions about returning the 'on loan' equipment if any.
