To RAID0 or Not to RAID0

The Windows Experience score is bogus and does not reflect the abilities of the machine in anyway.

My workstation is an two year old quad xeon (1.8mhz) with 16GB ram, dual 500GB 7200s mirrored and a 1TB drive + 2xDual display cards with 128MB each. It can handle pretty much anything I throw at it... yet the Windows Experience is at around 3, because the cards are geared towards 2D usage (which is what I use) and not 3D gaming or whatever is needed for those extra points.

Focus on what works...

I'd guessed it was maybe not a true reflection of performance, especially as the index is the minimum score from the various tests.

I was trying to find out if that setup would max out any of the scores at 7.9 or not.

What is the best overall system benchmark these days? I am going to upgrade a home PC and since it is an AMD 3200 system you can tell I haven't done much upgrading for a while, I'm pretty much out of the loop with regards to CPU/MBs etc.

The great thing these days is, for the bulk of us, pretty much any low/medium price desktop is powerful enough for what we do.
I'm excluding gamers from this statement.
