Some planes like Cathay's modern fleet have UK sockets too.
I didn't know you can plug you laptop in the plane in flight. Where are the power sockets?
Right at your seat, on all the Cathay long haul planes at least.
(The short haul planes currently have the older system requiring an adaptor at all business class seats and some economy seats)

I've found more and more planes have 'standard' prong (either US or UK) plugs in them now days. I still have an airplane adapter but suspect for my next laptop I'll forgo that option. Interesting side note was that my airplane adapter would power, but not charge my existing laptop. Just enough juice to keep it running, not refill the battery, fwiw.
