    Smile Mac Related Query

    Hi. Can any one help me how do i update the Codec files for Mac. I got some movie stuff from a friend in US of his wedding and i am not able to view them. I am pretty new to Mac and some one can help i would be glad. The DivX player also is not working on my Mac. I am using i Mac G5. Any help is welcome.

    Best thing I can suggest for you is Videolan - a nice media player with pretty good Mac support...

    Yep, I used to use VLC too (when I had a Mac).

    mplayer is better...but vlc is good if you have a file that has menus like a dvd....otherwise i would always go with mplayer..

    Well, yes, 99 times out of 100 I'd use mplayer myself, on the command-line without a GUI in sight... but I think vlc provides a better out-the-box experience, particularly on a Mac where people tend to be command-line-averse

    Very cool, just downloaded VLC and all of a sudden the files that Quicktime and Windows Nomedia Player didn't play are playing.
