    Question Firefox won't open

Just started having a problem with my firefox browser today. It won't open. When I click on the application, nothing happens. No error message, nothing. Just the hourglass appears for about 5 seconds, then nothing again.

So I try to uninstall it so I can reinstall it again, but then a message pops up saying:

"Firefox must be closed to proceed with the uninstall. Please close firefox to continue".

So the computer thinks that it is already open (maybe it is, but it's gone invisible?!?!).

    Anyone can help?

no, it's not showing up in task manager either.

Tried googling for a solution, but can't find one that addresses this (nothing happening at all).

It won't even start in safe mode, which some have suggested.

When I get that message, I just do what pin says.

Have you tried restarting your computer? Sorry if that's a stupid question.

Ok... what I did was I changed the name of the app. from firefox.exe to firefox3.exe (as suggested by someone on some site I googled) and it opened. But I was still worried that the file is corrupted, so I uninstalled it and downloaded a clean version from mozilla again and now it's working fine again. thanks Pin and Sigga for your replies!
