How was HSBC in disputing the claim? Being a premier customer and all, there should be no problem to recover the money, right? But I understand it is more the frustrations and hassles to cancel cards, etc.

Anyway, I googled "fraudulent payments by mp3-payments.com" yesterday. I found a heap of consumer help websites warning about them. It's all scam.
    Why not call the company?

So far they have just advised to cancel the card and are "looking into it". So I don't know. It's been over a week but with xmas hard to say how long it will take.

Ha ha - have you tried that number? I tried them all yesterday. none of them were answered and several said they were invalid numbers.

This looks to be exactly the same as what is on my stick -which tried to install the first time and then didnt work .. but I'll try anything once...

.. so I finally managed to download it .. then realised the windows machine does not have any winrar on it so I had to go and get that... then I tried installing and it needed to uninstall my old version first .. then I installed and it gave me a message about being the wrong version and did I want to fix it, so I said Yes, so then it uninstalled it again and now is reinstalling it (or some variant?)... so.. still going....still waiting to find out if it works!

EDIT: And it does not. Installs the software for mobile partner, but when I plug the USB stick in, all it does is find the drivers for the mass storage device, NOT the modem. So the mobile partner software still says "no device" and I cannot connect. Oh well - it was worth a try.

It's a north american country code, with montreal area code. Try calling 9-5 EST.

Just rang them now, it worked, said their offices are closed (DUH).
