Angry Massive problems with Nokia 6280 phone

Two months ago, I bought a brand new Nokia 6280 phone. At the beginning, I was really happy... but now I can't use it any more.... :-(

Problems began when I was on a business trip in Indonesia... Even though there is a very good network coverage in the capital, the phone changed the "network status" shown in the display every few minutes... from "Full Coverage" to "No Service" and vive versa...

Back in HK, it's similar... even though I have a full network coverage, people can't reach / call me and I can't call anybody either.... that really sucks!!!
Basically, I never know if the phone is working properly or not. When I manage to make a call, it's working well for a few minutes, but then out of sudden the other person can't hear me anymore.

So far, I haven't managed to see the Nokia Service Center (I guess it's in Mong Kok, isn't it?)....
Is it possible that I just need a software update? How long does it usually take?

Thanks in advance for you help!!

It sounds like water or humidity got in the phone. Are you sure nothing strange happened to your phone in Indonesia?

try to switch your network mode to 'manual selection' and pick the local telco company that u are suppose to signed with. Sometimes when ua re on roaming with automode the system gets naughty trying to always find the best station..

Unfortunately the 6280 and the newer N80 Nokia phones are not without their faults. There is an extremely good phone review site based in th UK, which I wont post the link to but you can find if you google mobile phone reviews. They cannot recommend the 6280 because of the amount of problems people have had with them. It seems there are good and bad ones out there.
