Calling USA?

Hi, I need to call a landline in the USA but I'm having problems.

Im using a sim card that requires me to dial 1678 before the rest of the number to get cheap calls.

The number format needs to be something like this but I keep getting an error message in Cantonese (which I don't speak):

1678 (not sure what goes here) 303 xxx xxxx

Can anyone gimme some advie please?

1678 1 303 xxx xxxx

The 1 is the country code for the USA (& Canada). If you dial 1678 30 3xxxxxxxx then it thinks you are trying to call Greece.
