The iphone4 runs on ios4? What do you mean by 'until i loaded OS4' ?
then again I experience the same, I feel like the battery drains lot faster than when it was new. Sure I have way more apps, but I don't use them all at once.

I'm confused too.
Iphone4 only ships with iOS4 and never ran on the 3.2
As for battery life.... Are you running apps during those 7 hours? If yes... Then what's the problem? That means you can run on average use for about 2 days charge.
If not running anything... And only using standby... Seems like one of your apps is eating too much battery in the multitasking. Some apps are terrible...like skype where it literally drains 1% every minute.
That's a lot.
How man times do you charge in a day?
I typically use mine for about 3-4 hours of music (via iPod or Pandora), about 3-4 hours of games or apps, about an hour of web browsing, and around 2 hours of calls. I also have skype running in background for about 4-5 hours. All this and I usually get home around 9PM with another 20-30% remaining.
75apps...did you count them?
I never bothered updating mine since purchase so it's still running 4.0.1, anything useful patched since that and the latest firmware?
4.02 fixed an important PDF exploit
4.1 brought HDR photos, gamecenter, and a few other basic features.
4.2 brings airplay, airprint, and not much else.
As for battery life.... How often do you reboot your phone? You should power cycle at least 1 or 2 times a week. Also, If possible once or twice a month you should do a full battery charge cycle... Where you drain to 0% and leave it for a few hours, then charge it full.
If this don't help... I don't know what to tell you. I charge every night, and unplug at 7 AM... and my battery easily lasts me until I come home at 9 with another 40% if lightly used, 30% if average used, and 20% if heavy use.
You should restate your phone at least once a day. As much as steve jobs says you shouldn't have to think about multi tasking the truth is sometimes my battery hardly drains, and other times it goes very quickly. The only factor is apps I've used. So rebooting is a good way to turn everythig off.
