I think he is talking about a USB stick from a phone company to go online through the cell phone network as opposed to a USB stick where you have your internet browser stored on.

That reminds me of a question I have, what about tethering in HK>
When I sign up with PCCW or 3 for unlimited internet data do they allow or rule out
( or perhaps even add a surcharge for ) tethering ?

    Thanks

PCCW/Netvigator and Smartone both have ~HK$200/mo plans for basic 3G data usage.

Speed is much like picking a carrier for regular mobile phone, completely dependent on where you are using it.

I use a 3 one. It is 200HKD per month unlimited and it works pretty well in most places and I use it daily. I've left it on for many hours no problem! I wouldn't try and stream live tv through it but I've used it for big downloads.

I pay $350 for my cell phone and unlimited internet: One2Free. After the initial hiccups with their customer service and billing, everything's been fine.
