    Reflashing Nokia Phone

Hi, can anyone suggest a place in Hong Kong for me to go to have a Nokia N8 reflashed?

I currently have a North American version of the Nokia N8. It's a nice phone, but right now it is useless to me because I did a factory reset, and now I am unable to install Ovi, or any apps. I'd also like to be able to read Chinese on my phone for RenRen and Weibo purposes. Thanks a lot everyone.

Very simple, you need to change the phone product code first - Google for the software and correct code for your phone. Once done do a Nokia update and then you'll have a region correct handset.

I'm not trying to update my software. I have North American firmware installed on my N8. I bought the phone in NY. I am trying to change the firmware or ROM on my N8 so that it can handle Chinese. I believe the only way to do this is by reflashing. Nokia can't do this for me because it voids my warranty (I've asked). Only way is to have someone knowledgeable flash for me. It's sort of against the rules, but what choice do I have? My N8 stays in my room unused. I just don't know enough about HK to go to Mongkok on my own. It's a dodgy proposition as it is. Thanks for your help!

Nokia works regionally by product codes. You need the software to change that product code to HK which will be for English, T Chinese and S Chinese. You then need to download the latest Nokia software which will load based on product code. You can do this at home or that is exactly what they will do at a shop. Either way back your phone up first as all current data will be deleted.
