    Mobile handset recycling in HK?

    Hi

I'm doing a bit of research to see if there are any companies or charities in Hong Kong which collect old mobile handsets to reuse or recycle them. Do any exist?

I know in the UK there are many companies who widely advertise recycling of old handsets for money, however in this case we are just interested in recycling or reusing. The same goes for the batteries/any cables/chargers which may have come with the phone.

If anyone has any information or contacts please let me know.

    Thanks in advance.

EPD has some information about batteries. See https://www.wastereduction.gov.hk/en...tery_intro.htm

From the EPD, I found Redeem: We buy, sell & collect used printer cartridges & mobile / cell phones - why don't you get the money and donate it to charity?

St. James' Settlement has an electrical appliances for the elderly programme, but I'm not sure if that includes mobile phones.

Thanks - we already recycle rechargeable batteries at work, but were interested in recycling the handsets.

Redeem seems to be a UK company, so i think the cost/carbon emissions of shipping abroad would defeat the purpose - we are trying to reduce our carbon footprint and emissions etc by increasing recycling and wanted to do a drive over a month to get old handsets. I will email them anyway to find out if they do stuff over here or not.

    Thanks
