    phone reception

My mobile service provider is PCCW and I find it has very poor reception in a lot of places. Others who are using other service providers can get reception where I cannot. I am planning to change provider the minute the plan is up; can anyone recommend the best provider just for mobile phone reception? (data reception not so important).

Does anyone know if PCCW gives any problems when changing out of their service (apparently they give some trouble to people who try and cancel services).....and I have had previous experience as well......

    Jean,

I went through one contract with PCCW mobile and had the same issue with coverage (as well as a very flaky SMS service). I'm back now with CSL (having also tried 3 for a while). I am very happy with the coverage from their network. If you just want voice & SMS then go for a package under the one2Free brand rather than 1O1O - they use the same network, but one2Free has the better pricing.

you mean getting out before the 24months or whatever is up? you got to be kidding right? this is HK, everyone wants your money.

If you talking about when your contract is up, i think they can't control it because you can just use another telco and port the number over without even them knowing

No, of course I will respect whatever contract I signed. Butl I hear PCCW makes it very difficult to cancel contract and some people have their contracts renewed via SMS (opt out) - sometimes in Chinese (which I cannot read) and I ignore all advert SMSes anyway!!
    Has anyone had these problems??
