CM9 nightlies out for SG2 for a while already.
For those not running rooted roms, probably best to wait for an OTA or Kies update for ICS.
I've been using a non Touchwiz leaked ICS rom the SG2 for a month or so now. Its sweet.
Pin - the CM9 nightlies have indeed been out for a while, but the thing they (and all others) lack are native drivers, hardware acceleration etc.
I used Resurrection ICS for a while, was decent, eventually decided to go back to CheckROM.
I may give the newly released ICS a go tonight...
Presently using Resurrection and generally like it, however do find it annoying that you need to full wipe for each update. Do have a look at Foxhound. However probably in the next few days a bunch of roms will start cropping up on the back of the official update. Do you like Touchwiz though?
Yes.. the full wipe for Resurrection is a pain...
Touchwiz... I can't say I hate it... but I don't love it either. However, I think the majority of the experience comes down to the launcher you use, so having TW at the back and your preferred launcher (go for me) at the front already makes a big difference.
I was happy with Resurrection 9.2, then 9.3 broke a few things for me, I see they're already on 9.7 as of today.. I think it's not worth going to any of these 3rd party ROM's until they've got the sources from Samsung and integrated official kernels and drivers..
OK, so..... what does that mean actually?
I have a Galaxy S2, I haven't rooted it, indeed I rarely have sexual intercourse with any of my electrical appliances. I'm an atheist and don't believe in the Resurrection.
Is ICS available for my phone?
You have to wait for KIES or Over this air update
Yes, lots.
Google will assist you.
OK, that was a bit harsh.
