It's nice not to have to stop in the middle of the street every time I want to type a text message.
That doesn't stop everyone else doing it - boom boom!

You could get it for a bit less in Mongkok for Sui.
Thanks Jimbo. It's CAD430 (HKD3400) over there so I am told. I would have expected HK to be cheaper than Canada. It's AUD520 (HKD3700) in Aus but that's on a plan which might be the reason.

discobay - I got the LG Viewty a few weeks back and I am very happy with it. Paid HK$ 2400 for it with a Smartone contract (3G HK$128 + internet + email).

Do you mean you paid 2400 and had to sign a contract (24mths?) which charges you a further 128/mth for it?
How do you find the OS? Can you multi-task, say browse a web site, break off to check addresses or make a call then go back to the same web page? So many questions.

naaaaaah - The monthly basic fee is 128HK$ ++ (3G incl. free 1200 intra minutes and 1200 free minutes to other networks, free intra SMS, voice mail, call forwarding, and so on for 18 months). Previously I was on a 2G Smartone contract. Without the contact the phone is 4000-something HK$.

The Sony Ericson W960i is also in this range and worth considering.
8GB of flash, 3.2M pixel camera, UIQ interface, walkman etc.

instead of the N95, I find the N82 to be a better alternative. Much faster too and has a better Xenon Flash.

I got all excited by the Viewty that I didn't notice that it has no qwerty! Still want one though.

N82 as a camera phone is much better than N95, and also the first Nokia to have a Xenon flash compared to N95's LED which means they are now catching up with Sony Ericsson. Still not as good in quality as a SE K850i as a camera phone, it isn't that far off and certainly looks a damn site better.

discobay - one of the options is to turn the touch screen to landscape mode - then you have a full qwerty keyboard. Easy to use with thumbs or stylus.
