    What Cell Phone?

    to get?

thinking about getting a new phone with 4g unlimited service that does 1080p videos and has a large expanded external memory card. what are the choices out there? galaxy s4?

what about iphone 5? does it play 1080p? no expansion right?

also, does american phone work here? i brought over my old att htc inspire 4g. do i have to find someone to unlock it before i can use it here or something?

    iphone 5 no 1080p

sony xperia z, htc one ( no sd card), lg optimus g and s4 are the best phones which suit ur need

most phones can play 1080p videos but may display quality is based on the screen resolution of the phone. you will need to find a photo with resolution 1920x1080 to display full HD, like what imparanoic mentioned. personally, i would recommend samsung phones but none of them has a full HD screen, as far as I know

thanks guys. normally 720p would do on a phone, but don't really want to keep 2 copies of the same videos. going to play the same file on tv and phone so synch them would be the best way instead of putting 720p in the phone. that's why also need a large expansion slot too.

I'm pretty sure most newer phones can play 1080p videos without any issue, so you won't have to re-encode videos to 720p. In my own experience, it's a lot easier with Android phones since you can download an app that will play anything (vs. using iTunes). I use MX Player to play 1080p MKVs on my older Galaxy Nexus with a bit of stuttering, but that's an old phone that's not even sold in HK anymore.

I've heard good things about the new HTC One, and you can't go wrong with the old Galaxy S3, either.

You prioritize video recording over any other features right?

There is a phone pretty much customized for people looking for exactly that.

    Nokia Lumia 920

    96gig with the expansion.

Then again, you don't know when the next gen will come.

s4, htc one, xperia z are all full 1080p screens

only the lg optimus g is 720p screen

i presume to op wants it output on a large hdtv, then he needs a mhl or micro hdmi as well

this is what i do, with my xperia tx and the dk22 dock, basically the entire phone is controlable with the tv remote (tv needs to be cec compatible which any decent brand post 2009 will be)

the problem is that your htc inspire has never been avalible in asia, thus, they may not be able to unlock it or to change the fi9rmware (or u can ask at&t to give u unlocking code)

u have nothing to lose try go to sin tat/sincere podium in mk and ask, if they can't unlock they should not charge u
