SmarTone 'basic' $68 plan - speed sufficient?

    I have this $68 Smartone plan and satisfied with it. (its actually $68 + $12 = $80).

    Fine for email, whatsapp,FB, online radio.

    Im interested in this. What is the additional $12 charge? Also, can the carriers really limit tethering? There are workarounds as far as I know.

    $12 tunnel fee. I.e government tax

    Go for the NW $60 plan if you want tethering. There are no workarounds necessary and they openly allow it.

    Can you go to a normal NW store to get this plan? Last time I went to one they didn't seem to know what I was talking about. Also, do you find them hard to deal with as they seem to be targeted to Chinese speakers only (no English website).
