No idea how much phones cost in Korea, but the standard place to check prices online is here:

I can't read Chinese either. I just bang the brand and model into the search bar and press the search button.

When you get the search results, a yellow circle next to a price means HK warranty and a blue circle means grey market (i.e. no warranty). That's pretty much all you need to get an indication of local pricing.

I only use Google Translate if I click onto a specific store and I'm looking for their address.

are you sure want to buy a US phone

    especially recent ones :-

Phone region locking, ie, only usable in US
incompatible due to band frequency (some t mobile uses 4g same as hk)
if you buy a cdma phone, it's useless outside of US

especially, your budget is around HK$2k, why not test a Moto g and see if you like it, it's as powerful as that soon to be obsolete bb z10 for HK$1800

first thing, you need to consider when buying a phone, what is your requirements? music, camera, size, removeable battery, apps, sd card? what is your budget? and how do you normally uses your current htc incredible s,

    for example, whatsapp 40%, mp3, 20%, calls 10%, internet, 20% and games 10%?

This is not exactly correct. Just the initial SIM must be from that region. So if you buy an Asia phone it must be activated with an Asian SIM. After that it can be used anywhere.

Your point about different frequencies remains fully valid.

PS: I would go for the Nexus 5, again.

for example, my wife, camera, 30% whatsapp 20%, mp3 10%, calls 10%, internet, 20% and games 10%? but she likes compact phones, so I will get her an xperia z1 compact ( best camera phone) and very powerful compact phone as she like smaller phones

but this is a top end phone at HK$4300 estimated ( competes with Samsung s4, htc one, iphone 5s)
