Even by Chinese standards this one is pretty audacious:
For those interested, Xiaomi has produced a 7.9 inch 4:3 aspect ratio tablet called the MiPad
Looks really high spec, fast and cheap. Expandable storage too.

Mi really on a roll. I'm very interested in the mitv they recently announced.
Xiaomi only copying what samsung have been doing for years now.
and apple don't get inspired by other products, even the name iphone was purchased from cisco many years ago

I've been using the $999 redmi for about 3 weeks now, including a recent trip to Chiang Mai where I relied it dearly for navigation.
Very happy with it, functionally it's great, my only gripe is aesthetics, it's not the prettiest phone of them all.
The new 4K tv from Xiaomi looks amazing, I wonder if we'll be able to get our hands on them in HK at a reasonable price..
Their new TV looks good too HERE
I'm not sure where the allegation of "rip off" would come from. Pretty much all of these devices are physically (design and spec) close to identical, to the point that companies sue over the shape (rectangles, duh) or colour of their devices.
The real points of differentiation lie in OS and possibly software features/bloatware. Or genuinely different features like fingerprint recognition.

I have just had a look at the www.mi.com site and this tablet doesn't seem to come with an OS that forces you to shop in a wall gateway, an awful music managment system or cheap (nasty) white headphones. How is it a copy of an Apple device?
