    Angry Airpush Advertisement Virus (android)

So my phone has been infected with this advertisement virus which shows me ads literally every time I open my phone. I'm going to get a new phone soon - so I don't really need a solution, but here's my question:

Do businesses specifically choose to advertise with airpush? or does airpush somehow tap into a general 'pool' of ads and get paid without businesses knowing who is doing the advertising.

Because if it's the former, I am literally going to witchhunt the business of every single advertisement I get.

Look at this old thread here:

List of Apps using AirPush | Android Forums

Airpush is an ad network. Looks like some app that you've installed uses / abuses their network.

(Now you know how we feel about businesses that spam the forums!)

I thought Airpush was a virus platform, I had no idea that they were a legitimate service.

I assumed the 'opt out' was the equivalent of one of those fake Security scans that say 'pay X to remove viruses'

    Thanks

Edit: OMG guys don't opt out. It just gives them more info.

" I'm with you on the opt-out. Not only does it confirm, but it gives them your IMEI, which remains constant even if you change carriers or phone number."

Yeah T^T But I'm not going to pay for anything if I can get it free, its a risk cheap people take. I'm pretty much the worst customer ever. The price can't be low enough XD.

That doesn't mean I'm not pissed off of course.

I know you don't need a solution but there are apps than can scan for these. Airpush detector or malwarebytes. May be good idea to scan incase you install some same programs on new phone that may be causing it.

I actually tried a scan, It didn't work. it said

'Your phone is awesome, you just need to hold the ad for several seconds and your phone will tell you which app has airpush'

And guess what? It didn't. So I deleted the 'airpush dectector app and consigned myself to a cruel waiting game.

I need to replace my phone cuz data only works in China and HK (not in states where I am currently) - gg, dont buy 70USD phones off ebay. Its not worth it at all

But i think I know the culprit from the link Shri Added. I downloaded a theme by Jason Moneylover and just need to avoid it.

    thanks 4 suggestions tho

One of the changes in Android 7 is that all notifications are clearly marked with the name of the application which generated them...

Whaddya mean you don't have Android 7 on your phone? It's been out for 16 hours now!
