In lots of places the mobile operators keep personal WiFi devices in stock that they will sell you, but this practice seems much less common in HK. The problem, IMO, is that if you get your hotspot from another source you could face compatibility issues or your operator might tell you they do not allow tethering. Thus I propose two questions:

  1. Please suggest places to buy a personal WiFI "egg" device in HK.
  2. If you have one that works, please state the brand and model and also your operator and plan.


Many thanks to my HK tech geeks. Bonus points if you can suggest a shop that will be patient with older customers (this is for my non tech-saavy parents).

Note: based on what I've read already it sounds like Vave should work in one of these devices. Can anyone confirm?
