Fake phones at mongkok computer centre

mongkok computer centre store 103 (corner) has gray market phones from vietnam. official samsung will not even try to fix the p.o.s.

also i have bought 2 buffalo hds from mongkok computer centre both crashed. do not waste your money.

Grey market phones are not fake phones.
The warranty is with the shop where you bought it not from the manufacturer themselves.

You can always check the phones imei and verify at samsung website. These are phones 14 day lots which were returned to samsung or big vendors like fortress for minor defects and auctioned off to smaller vendors who will repair and resell at lower price at other markets. It surely doesn't have official warranty and will have limited shop warranty. You may have to read and clarify the shop terms when u buy those kindda phones...

I don't know why people just don't go to Fortress and buy from there. At least they will honour the warranty and you can bargain with them. We have plus Moneyback card points can also be used to get a further discount. My brother in law found out the hard way this year buying electronics in Mong Kok and was over charged on the price advertised and the shop would not even acknowledge their mistake nor refund the money. One can try to buy cheap, cheaper and cheapest however it will not necessarily save you money.

Purchase Western Digital HDD next time - it used to be crap but ever since they acquired Hitachi, they fixed the percentage of product defects.

HGST - It's what made WD good.

No to Seagate. They knowingly roll out defective products.

Don't know about Toshiba - have no experience with it.

If you have problems with Samsung, then just don't get the brand next time. It's not supposed to need fixing to begin with.

Buffalo hdds should have WD or Seagate hdds inside the enclosure!! Both wd and seagate products are comparable with similar failure rate. Hitachi mostly covers enterprise drives and toshiba makes 2.5 n 3.5 inch drives but not many options...

Because the grey market price can be considerably cheaper. If you know what you are doing, you can save a lot of money.
