Best mobile plan HK&China

I'm looking for the best mobile plan (voice and data) for a combination of working in China and living in Hong Kong.
I would be travelling throughout China during the week and live in Hong Kong in the weekend.
Potentially occasional travel to Taiwan or other Asian destinations might be needed.

What would be the best plan?

Do you want a cheap plan or do you need something that works for your needs?

Are you using voice minutes? Data? Lots of Data?

There are plans that let you share data across APAC, only HK+China, and Hk only ones. Price ranges from about $1000+ per month for APAC plans, $600-700 for Hk+China and $100-300 for Hk plans with 2 number 1 sim with affordable top up options for China data. Think $40-50 to top up 500Mb.

Check china mobile or China Unicom. You can get a normal 24 month phone plan with 3gb or 5gb of data for around $300 or $400 per month and they let you share the one pool of data in both HK and China. It's only a little bit more per month for this option, around $40 I think.

The other HK carriers do not offer this and their China roaming options are much more expensive and data pooling options are not available, just day pass options.

I use lots of data not so much voice but will happen from time to time.

I will check china unicom to see what they have as I have read theit bandwidth is most compatible with non-Chinese mobile phones?

I use China Unicom and have an iPhone 7. Works fine. Have used in Shanghai and Hk thus far.
