    Huawei fakes benchmarks

The Huawei P20, Huawei P20 Pro, Huawei Nova 3 and the Honor Play have now been delisted, and now appear on UL Benchmarks unranked and without scores.

Huawei's Dr Wang Chenglu responded to AnandTech by saying current smartphone benchmarks were limited, and that "others do the same testing, get high scores, and Huawei cannot stay silent".

"In the Android ecosystem, other manufacturers also mislead with their numbers," Dr Chenglu was quoted as saying.

All up, it sounds a lot like "benchmarks are stupid anyway" combined with the old "they did it first" chestnut. But while it isn't unheard of for manufacturers to pad benchmarks, that still doesn't make it OK.
    47% performance boost.

The irony is that one of the phones has the name "Honor"

According to a report by AnandTech, the Huawei phones detected when certain benchmarking software was active, and responded by boosting their power and battery usage well beyond ordinary performance.
Sounds like they've learnt well from Audi.

they make good cars, best of all, great value and quality, not like the duopolistic car dealership who offer poor value for money as they take advantage of their massive market share

huawei are on a winner, they over taken xiaomi last year, now overtaken apple, their latest system on a chip kirin 970 is really decent and looks to challenging samsung over the next few months

Interesting, they didn't use Snapdragon but their own 'Kirin' for the P20. So much to the Snapdragon killer.

    True

A bit concerning for their claims of the next gen Kirin faster than Qualcomm chips. Most people get the P20 pro for the camera anyway though. I still don't trust their software. Samsung's UI has improved immensely to where I don't constantly feel to urge to move back to Apple.
