    SUN MOBILE

    Hi all

Any views on Sun Mobile - didn't even know this network existed until 5 mins ago...

Is the reception really poor - why is it so much cheaper?

I used Sun mobile for many years and they were great. But now I have switched to Birdie mobile because they are cheaper, no contract, p2p data sharing with my family and friends, better English support, better app to control your account.

I am in Sun mobile and so far I don't have much complains. However it bothered me not being able to receive SMS while being abroad, which invalidates many of the bullshit two factor authentication systems from HK that somehow will only work if receiving an SMS. For example, any card payments. Otherwise, and while in HK, it works great. They use CSL's network as far as I know, and it works really well. But as bdw (and many others), I'm also on my way to Birdie, my Sun contract expires next month and I'll be moving to the bird brand.

I believe you can activate roaming to receive SMS only. Make sure to disable the data roaming to avoid high cost.
