Does anyone use a HK mobile number which comes with an additional China mobile number as well. If you do then you will probably get a similar request from your service provider. our is 3HK.

China Mobile Number: REAL NAME REGISTRATION has NOT been completed as instructed by the China Government.
Please advise whether China Mobile# will be retained or not.
1. If yes, individual user should provide the follow information personally to 3HK to process. Details will be provided after your reply.
a. Valid Identification Document
b. Bareheaded full-faced photo (in full colour and in JEPG format)
2. If no, the China Mobile# will be out of service from 10th Sep 2020

I use 3 as well. This requirement is not new. Did it a few years ago. It is the same requirement as getting a mobile sim in China. All sims are supposed to be attached to a real name and ID.

oh I C, thing is ive had this company number for a few years and only today was asked to provide id and photo if I wanted to keep using my china number, thats why it was surprising. our company used PCCW before and had dual number but again was never asked for our personal ID card or color photo.
