Zoom HK servers down?

It's always connecting via Singapore. Asked zoom and they avoided the question, basically, by saying that 'Singapore is the best server for you'. The zoom status page says the servers are up. Does anyone know if this is related to government interference we saw a couple of weeks ago?

Zoom has ties with China and is allegedly backdoored so they are the video conferencing company who is least likely to be shutdown by government interference. They will instead just ban individual accounts at the request of Beijing

I've still got a problem with lag because it won't connect via HK servers.

Can't change work policy to an alternative.

For private work, I wonder what locals are familiar with to avoid least friction to change?

Just to let you know, they're setting up new servers in January. This year most of them in HK in were overloaded
