    Birdie still ok?

I'm looking to port my number to a contract free monthly plan and seen people here mention birdie. I went to their site and it has broken image icons and some links go to error pages. Seems like a double data offer is going on so want to switch now, but worry maybe they are shutting down because of the page issues.

Anybody use it now and any good? If not any other no contract monthly sims I can port my number to? Thanks.

working fine here. lots of noise when they finished their super cheap bait and switch rates but no issues with the service if you're happy with the pricing

Consider SoSIM; even cheaper - same contract free number.

Looking into this, but cheeky that they charge extra for VoLTE and voicemail.

I think even with those extras combined with $88 pack, monthly cost comes to ~$40.2 for 3333 minutes and 40GB data !

    Thanks all.

Looking into that sosim. It's all jumble in my head right now trying to make sure Im not missing anything. Not used to alacart choices, just always done a set plan. I need to look at it on my PC later to see it all on one big screen. One thing for sure I need is I can't lose my current number (signed up for a few vaccine lucky draws with it lol)

SoSim is like 33 per month for their 50/60 GB data and 5000 minutes. If you sign up for the annual VoLTE package, you basically get unlimited voice minutes at approx ~6 per month. Another $5 for the voice mail and you're still looking at a sub $50 price for more data than you can use casually (unless you're tethering or using as home wifi, which is a separate topic).

The only place Birdie seems to be better is that they offer the roaming day passes to multiple destinations, whereas SoSim only has it for the Mainland, Macau and Taiwan. Apart from that, Birdie also offers VoWiFi, not that HK has too many dead zones when it comes to mobile signal coverage.

Speaking of VoWiFi, has anyone tried using it on a local SIM when abroad? Does it act like a local number when connected to a WiFi network? I know that AT&T and T-Mobile numbers with VoWiFi can be used abroad as local American numbers to make and receive calls while connected to WiFi while staying in airplane mode for the cellular network.

Seems really cheap. I'm paying $98 at sun for 10gb of data and I don't even use that

So for $33 plus $5 for voice and porting my number over, I don't see what else I'd need. Can't see speed of net but I don't do much anyway. Seems like a great option!

    Yes true.

What's the speeds like? Any info on max speeds? Shame to have a 5g phone running at 3g rates.
