Newly activated prepaid simcards warning message

Recently transferred my mother-in-laws mobile number to a prepaid card.

As of end of last year, OFCA require all mobile networks need to play a warning message to the person your calling that it is a recently activated prepaid simcard.

Anyone know how long this warning message remains? i asked Three network CS and they say it is indefinitely as long as the number is active.

I have transferred my own number to a prepaid sim in January however the simcard i used for the MNP was activated mid-2024, could this be the difference as to why I do not have the warning message played to people I call.

    Thanks

    From the OFTA website ...

The voice alert is only applicable to newly activated local pre-paid SIM cards (including those new pre-paid SIM cards activated with mobile number portability), but not to service plan SIM cards. Mobile service provider will only provide the voice alert for calls made by new pre-paid SIM card for a specified period* after activation.

    * The specified period lasts for several months and may be suitably adjusted where necessary subject to implementation status.

Recently shifted wife to prepaid and there is always a notice in Chinese before she gets put through. Wondered what it was, I guess this answers the question.

    Says several months.

My mother-in-law number was ported on Jan 28th, so will need to see what happens end of this month.
