I did all the homework - and Peoples came up with the best deal (apart from PCCW, but their network is pretty bad).

Peoples is $368 for 50MB BB Data (They call it the 'unlimited' plan - seems very deceptive to me) + $98 for 1200 voice minutes and real unlimited gprs and wifi data service.

100% rebate of the phone value over 22 months - however, contract is only fixed for 12 months. Quite a good deal if u ask me.

We've happily used the peoples 2G plan for over a year now - while customer service (and English language correspondence) is not exactly their forte, they seem fine for the prices they charge!

Can you elaborate on the GPRS service? So normally you would be using a Blackberry Data... but when you browse, you use their GPRS network?

The People's GPRS service we use was not a blackberry plan but just a pure data plan. My comment was about People's generally as to their service. However, we found GPRS to be perfectly adequate for the type of email and data browsing we do - my old blackberry (which I only retired about 6 months ago) was incapable of more than GRPS anyway so I guess I have never got used to fast browsing! Not useful if you like video calling, downloading videos or pictures etc.....

Hey, just want to share this:
If you do go for a mobile plan with the use of Pop mail then PCCW offers $110 - 1600mins talktime, unlimited WiFi and 60MB GPRS
