Done some analysis on yearly costs etc:

Which is the best mobile data plan?

Let me know thoughts, comments, criticisms, etc

PCCW mobile has been advertising cheaper mobile data plans with speeds upto 7.2 mbps. Is Three HK speed 3.6 or 7.2 mbps? I'm with three but i'm thinking of switching to PCCW unlimited data plan only if Three is not 7.2.

If you are not always in HK and don't need Blackberry service, I find three prepaid the most flexible. No contract (and of course no free phone).
2 HK$ per MB, capped at 28 HK$ per day and 338 HK$ per month.
I got myself the new Google Nexus One, push-mail works fine with a gMail account and the advantage to Blackberry is that I can always use local SIM cards (In China for example the price per MB is only 0.3 RMB). But there are a number of disadvantages as well, which I am in process to evaluate before I make a final decision.

I use this too, apart from 3's flakey network it costs me around 300 HKD every 2 months to use my netbook pretty much every working day. (mostly just check emails/ssh). Also i managed to get a card where a top up of 300 HKD gives me 400HKD credit. Despite the claims of the numpties in the Three shop, this is still working

Has anyone been able to score a 12 month contract for unlimited 3g/HSDPA from any of these companies ? 18-24 months is
insane considering how fast things change. As often happens a few months into it the network starts to go downhill. Bought a bunch of pre-paid cards for testing and like CSL the best so far. Currently on Peoples whose EDGE network is approaching useless. Time to bail.

I think pccw may be able to offer you a 12 month contract.

Also you can cancel the SMV contract with a $500 penalty, as opposed to paying out your entire remainder of the contract.

    PCCW Unlimited Data Plan

I have not joined PCCW plan as follows:
    Plan: 24 Month Contract
    HK$202 (including $12 MTR & Tunnel)
Basic Mins 3000 (No Heart to Heart)
    Unlimited 3G 7.2 Data Plan
    Unlimited PCCW to PCCW sms
    30 SMS to any network

Just switched from 3 and speed is comparable. But Unlimited is great, stress free. I used over 100MB in 3 days and 388MB in 9 days.

Its a good bargain for HK$202.

I saw two blackberry plans on peoples website, but couldn't figure out the difference between the two. Both have unlimited email, but one cost $100 more than the other.
    Links:
    Unlimited Email $168/month
    BlackBerry IM & Email Service

It's looks like the cheap one is email only whereas the more expensive one includes instant messaging and facebook etc.

Ironically, the expensive one only has email and the cheap one has email+IM.... =.=
