If you really want so good network, I think CSL and Smartone also have prepaid cards which you can consider.
Thanks for the suggestion. I do not know if I will stay in HK within the whole contract period. It depends on several factors such as employment status. By "troublesome", do you mean the phone company may not let go easily even I pay the penality ($500 or $1000 in the case of Smartone) to terminate the contract earlier?

I asked somebody at a Smartone store about prepaid cards. She said that they only offer prepaid sim cards for phone services, not data services. I am not sure if this is really true.

From other threads, I read that phone companies in HK like to rip off people when they try to terminate the contract. Is this the reason some of you do not recommend a contract plan if I may not stay here til the end of the contract period? Besides People, are there other companies that offer prepaid sim cards (for 3G is possible)? A Smartone representative told me that they only offer prepaid sim cards for phones calls, not data for internet access.

I already provided a link for the prepaid cards from 3HK. Check earlier on in the thread.

Most of the information is available on the internet already - do you have trouble researching yourself?

Thanks for the advice. I clicked on the link you provided and got confused. Is $98 a special price that includes $338/month worth of local wireless data service?

Somebody mentioned the following "Prepaid 3G service":
    http://www.hk.chinamobile.com/p_prep...datasim_en.jsp

I am also confused. The photo indicates that it costs $139. Then, under item 1 in the description, it mentions about getting unlimited mobile data usage after subscribing first to $78 "Mobile Data Package".

Exactly how much in total do I have to pay under each plan? Anybody tried both plans? Isn't the service from ChinaMobile (Peoples) 2G?
