I looked at the Smartone site, and unfortunately couldn't find anything about their $250 unlimited plan. Why do I get the impression the phone companies' websites were written by mystery/fiction authors? No-one knows what's going to happen until you've signed up to a plan you never suspected?
OK, have a look here:
Which is the best data plan?
and
mobile data plans
Which will have links to all the relevant unlimited data tariffs in HK.
And then the specific page on the smartone website:
Price plans - Hot offers
Thanks Pin, the second link looks a bit dated now but the 3rd link is very informative, I don't know how you found it but thanks a great deal!
you too huh? same reason I left One2Free for Smartone. Very vague billing structure/system. Which is a shame since their network coverage is pretty good. Though I did notice more than a few blackspots while using them.
Smartone may not be perfect and they may be lacking in a few areas,(coverage, rates,..etc..) but so far their service has been top notch.
As for PCCW, while I don't use their mobile service, I do use their fixed line, IDD, and internet services and I find them to be pretty decent and prompt in solving problems...despite the complaints they get from everyone else.
Most of the CS on phone are either bunch of crooks who care only about sales or shifting the problem to somebody else.
The email systems are no better. I'm convinced they have databases full of auto-replies that respond on keywords. I'm still waiting for a termination form from PCCW I asked for way back. There's must be some auto-bot program sitting on their servers having a good laugh.
Even in the shop, expect the worst. I once walked into a '3' shop only to be directed to a phone on the wall, the only assistance the guy offered was to dial-up the CS number for me and then promptly handing me the grubby phone. He went back behind his desk, I stood there by myself in an almost empty shop holding the phone wondering
whether to pinch myself, it was so surreal.
Strangely, the only nice encounter I faced was with trainee sales mainlander (NWT), with the job of renewing contracts. They just do
what they're trained, no extra hard sell.
