    good camera shop

    hej guys,

I´ve just bought myself a nice polarizing lense for my Nikon D80, made some awesome pictures, BUT can´t get it off now!

anyone here who knows a good camera (service) shop to fix it (prefered on HK Island)? already tried all the hints I´ve found on the internet, but they didn´t work out..

    thanks for your help!

Have you tried using the base of a mouse mat? That surface (kinda rubbery and very grippy) worked a treat the first time I managed to get a filter stuck.

Failing that I'm sure one of the many on Stanley St. would help you get it off - you'd only need to take the lens anyway so it shouldn't be too difficult.

put a rubber band around the polarize filter and then try and twist off.

if still stuck. pull the edge of the filter until it comes off. the filter is in two pieces held together by a snap ring on the inside. after you pull the outer piece off , the snap ring will come off , and then unscrew the second part still attached to the lens. next just reassemble by snapping the ring back in place.
