    iDTV in Hong Kong (Wanchai)

    Hi,

I would like to know if I can get the free digital TV channels (like TVB) if I buy a TV with iDTV in the specifications.

Or I still need to contact I-Cable, PCCW, ... and I don't need the decoder?

Anyone knows the possibilities from Wanchai? Do I need to buy an antenna and put it next to the window?

    Thanks,

    Alex.inhk

yes, free digital channels, around 13 channels, more to come in future, need a decent antenna on the roof

If you don't have a decent antenna, you might be able to fake it with an amplifier - we got one for a couple of hundred dollars, and it took us from a borderline stable signal to a solid one.

You just plug the TV into the normal antenna plug on the wall. There is no such things as a digital antenna or an analog antenna, they are exactly the same. Especially in a built up area like Wan Chai you will have no problem at all.
